Privacy policy

• When you book: your name, e-mail, mobile, the pick-up, stop and drop-off addresses with their access details (stairs, lift, parking), the date and time, what you are moving, photos you add, notes, and an alternative contact if you give one.
• Your account: name, e-mail, mobile, and either a password (stored only as a one-way hash) or the Google / Apple account you sign in with — from Google or Apple we receive only your name and e-mail.
• Messages: text, photos, voice and video messages you send to the crew or our office from your job page or the app.
• On moving day: the live position of our truck and crew phones, so you can follow the move. We do not track your location.
• After the move: your ratings and comments and the payments recorded for the job.
• When you chat with Mia (the assistant on the website): the questions you type.
• Technical: a login cookie so you stay signed in, your language choice, and visit records (IP address, approximate location, device, browser, pages opened and time), kept for 90 days to keep the service secure and see how the site is used. No advertising trackers.

• To quote, confirm, plan and carry out your move, and to send the right crew and truck.
• To send you e-mails about your booking: your code, confirmation, the day of the move, the rating and payment link, and password resets.
• To let you follow the truck, chat with us and see your moves.
• To keep the records a business must keep (invoices, payments, tax) and to resolve any claim or complaint.

We never sell your information and never use it for third-party advertising.

We use a small number of trusted services to run Magic Move. They process data only to provide their service to us:

• Vercel — hosts the website and apps’ server (Sydney region).
• Neon — our database, in Sydney (AWS ap-southeast-2).
• Hostinger and Resend — send and receive our e-mail (bookings@magicmoveapp.com).
• Stripe — card payments; your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us.
• Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them; and Google Firebase to deliver notifications to our crew’s phones.
• OpenStreetMap / Photon — maps and address suggestions; Zhipu GLM or DeepSeek — the AI behind Mia (only what you type to Mia).

Some of these companies store data outside Australia (for example in the United States, Europe or China for the AI assistant). We choose services with strong security and only share what each one needs.

Booking, job and payment records are kept for at least five years, as Australian tax law requires. Messages and photos for a job are kept with the job. If you delete your account, your login and profile are removed straight away (see Delete my account).

• See and update your details any time in My account.
• Delete your account yourself in My account → Profile → Delete my account, or ask us.
• Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to erase the job records we are not required to keep — write to bookings@magicmoveapp.com or 0418 634 794. We answer within 30 days.
• If you are not happy with our answer you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, API keys are encrypted, staff logins use a security question and the owner’s app is locked with the phone’s fingerprint or PIN. Only our team sees your booking — each crew member sees only the jobs they are on.

Magic Move is for adults booking a move. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 16.
